The Move Still Goes On (DAY FIVE)

It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been before, to test your limits, to break through barriers

I’ve learned that the only way to grow is to push yourself beyond what’s comfortable. I’ve found in my life that you will not get better by doing what you always do. You have to use your personal initiative to go outside your comfort zone in your pursuit of success.

The 1939 classic film “The Wizard of Oz,” with the lion, who was “so desperately searching for courage… Of course, the Lion in question actually had a tremendous reservoir of courage but was unable to see that truth about himself. He was blinded by the barriers in front of him.

Take an athlete who has the desire to succeed, he or she needs to back it up with courage – the incentive to make any dream you dare to dream become reality.  It takes courage to sacrifice, to work out when you’re tired, and to seek out tough competition.  It takes courage to stick to your game plan and the relentless pursuit of your goal when you encounter obstacles.  It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been before – physically or mentally. It takes courage to test your limits and to break through barriers.

In my experience, I’ve noticed that the first step outside your comfort zone is by far the hardest. But then it only gets easier! I want to challenge you to find something in your life that you can improve upon. Then push yourself to get better at it! You will be fulfilled and gain confidence as people around you take notice of your development.

Everyone has or will face adversity, challenges or obstacles. The determining factor for your success in the coming years will be; what will you do when the adversity comes and you hit bottom? Will you persist or panic? Will you murmur or ponder? Will you look for reasons to push forward or will you find excuses to quit or give up? Will you join in the group griping and pity parties in crying how unfair it is, or will you explore the numerous opportunities which are ahead of you?

Yours Truly

  1. I believe in the battle-whether it’s the battle of a campaign or the battle of this office which is a continuing battle.
