Building Confidence In Women In Business (DAY SIX)

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do” – Eleanor Roosevelt

I often ask myself daily, “what makes women successful?” Could it be the way we move through the world?  Is it our way of being? Regardless of what activity or job we engage in, is it the state from which we operate?

I hope it doesn’t take me years to find this out. But I would love it if I heard from you.

Sometimes we define confidence traditionally as the state of being certain. Other times, exercising power over others. Which is it?

To arrive at this state, with a conscious mind, every decision you make that regards your family, life and business, have the right intentions and know deep within that you are doing the right thing.

I guarantee you that moves you into the state of confidence…

What is your state? Is it playful, loving honest, open, connective, grateful with a willingness to give? Is it full of wonder? Find the state that you can move throughout your world, both business and personal and never falter. Operate from the state that’s independent on the challenges you face.

Find out what makes you happy and what doesn’t. There is and will be great power that comes from deep within you, when you do. The value you give to people won’t be because of the power you have “over” them or because you have more certainty. It would because you know you matter to them.

Be firmly grounded.

A woman is a full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform” –

I’ve learned that the only way to grow is to push yourself beyond what’s comfortable. I’ve found in my life that you will not get better by doing what you always do. You have to use your personal initiative to go outside your comfort zone in your pursuit of success.

The 1939 classic film “The Wizard of Oz,” with the lion, who was “so desperately searching for courage… Of course, the Lion in question actually had a tremendous reservoir of courage but was unable to see that truth about himself. He was blinded by the barriers in front of him. Continue reading
